Tim Esser previews the 2024 Tour de Palm Springs

Come rain or shine, organizers of this week's Tour de Palm Springs say the annual event will be taking place throughout the valley.

Saturday's event is expected to feature thousands of cyclists and walkers from all over the nation.

It has raised millions of dollars for local charities since it began in 1999.

Downtown Palm Springs will be closed to traffic beginning Friday since there will be vendors, a beer garden and marching band.

Tim Esser, the founder of the event, says the event gets bigger each year.

News Channel 3's Peter Daut spoke with Esser about what you can expect at this year's event. You can watch the full interview at the top of the article.
