One dead in overnight crash on the I-10 in Palm Springs
One man died early Friday morning in a car crash on the I-10 East in Palm Springs, the California Highway Patrol reports. Officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
It happened around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning.
Investigators said the driver was a 63-year-old man from Jurupa Valley driving a Ford Flex eastbound at approximately 90 miles per hour. He was the only occupant of the vehicle.
Although the cause of the crash is still under investigation, officials suspect the Ford made an unsafe turn to the right and drove onto the south shoulder of the road. Then the vehicle overturned.

The vehicle rested on its left side on Garnet Avenue.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no suspicions of a DUI and the man was wearing a seatbelt.
Anyone with information on the crash is encouraged to call Officer Ramirez at (760) 772-5300.
