College of the Desert hosts 2nd Annual ‘Family Night’

COD

College of the Desert hosted its second annual "Family Night" Wednesday evening at the campus. The event gave prospective students and their families a special opportunity to learn more about admission.

The school held an open house where hundreds of attendees learned how to apply for financial aid and how to qualify for a free tuition program available to high school seniors in the valley.

"A lot of our students are in some type of free financial aid, so just knowing how to apply can demystify the process. We are giving them an opportunity to also meet our faculty to talk to them about our career opportunities so they can get started," said Oscar Espinoza-Parra, Dean of Enrollment Services for COD.

Representatives from almost every area of the college were available to answer questions. More opportunities are available to learn about going to college.
