Firefighters contain blaze at Palm Springs resort

Palm Springs firefighters responded to a fire inside the Oasis Resort on Friday.

The fire was reported shortly before 4:45 p.m. on the 2300 Block of Cherokee Way.

According to firefighters, the first arriving engines arrived and reported heavy fire and smoke. Palm Springs firefighters received assistance from several Cal Fire engines.

"Crews made an aggressive attack on a very stubborn fire that was running in multiple void spaces throughout the condo," wrote the Palm Springs Firefighters Association.
