The Palm Springs Police Department is seeking the public's help locating a vehicle wanted in connection with a hit-and-run two weeks ago.

On January 11 at 12:20 a.m., officers responded to the intersection East Palm Canyon Drive and Escoba Drive after receiving a 911 call about a car striking a pedestrian. Officers say they found a man suffering from major injuries and discovered that the connected vehicle had been driven away.

The vehicle was believed to be a 2006-2008 gray/silver BMW model 7 series, according to evidence recovered at the scene. The vehicle was believed to have suffered front-end and passenger-side damage.

"The Palm Springs Police Department Traffic Division is actively working this investigation, following up with leads and asking the public for any information regarding this incident," read PSPD's release on the incident. "Please call the Traffic Division at (760) 323-8125 with any info, or report information anonymously through Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-7867."

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. His current status was not provided by PSPD.
