Pedestrian injured after hit and run in Indio

A pedestrian was struck and left in serious conditions after a hit and run collision in Indio Saturday evening.

It occurred at the intersection of Jackson Street and Highway 111.

The intersection was closed for two and a half hours but was later reopened.

Indio police confirmed the pedestrian injured is an adult man.

The victim was transported to the hospital by Cal fire.
