Some drivers had to take a new route after realizing there was a road closure Sunday morning in Cathedral City.
A spokesperson from the city says Varner Road near Edom Hill Road was shut down for several hours after a car crashed into a power pole around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
No injuries were reported. Officials said drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
Southern California Edison crew members were reportedly on site to repair the pole.
