Firebirds pick up another win in San Jose

Firebirds fought back in OT to steal another win against San Jose Barracuda on the road.

Barracuda were bitter after a big loss to the Firebirds Saturday night. Cuda took an early lead, 2-0 in the first period. Kole Lind scored the first Coachella Valley goal of the game midway through the first.

New Firebird Connor Carrick scored in the second period, followed by Ryan Winterton.

Barracuda took the lead in the third period, but Andrew Poturalski tied it up 4-4 on a power play at the end of the third period. Regular season ties can be broken in a five-minute overtime period. Coachella Valley snagged a power play just a minute and a half into OT, and Shane Wright claimed the win. Final score, 5-4, Firebirds.

Firebirds have beat San Jose every time they've faced off during franchise history. This was the tenth time the two teams met.
