PGA member Hayden Springer honors late daughter in AMEX debut

Hayden Springer is beginning his PGA membership in La Quinta.

He has played in a handful of PGA tournaments through sponsor exemptions, but the AMEX marks his membership debut.

In December, after a T4 finish at PGA Tour Q-school, he earned his tour card.

It was just weeks before Springer received his card that his 3 year-old daughter, Sage passed.

She lived with a condition called Trisomy 18.

“We were told that she wouldn’t live for over 48 to 72 hours. And she lived for over three years,” said Springer.

As Springer tees off at the AMEX, he keeps his daughter Sage in his heart.

“She taught me to persevere no matter what’s happening,” said Springer. “Just keep moving forward, to do it with a smile. That’s really how I want to honor her.”
