Palm Springs Art Museum hosting Black History Nights during February

The Palm Springs Art Museum is observing Black History Month.

An exhibit called “The New Black Renaissance” features eight Black artists from Southern California.

"The New Black Renaissance" is a collaborative project with the Palm Springs Black History Committee.

The exhibit displays art that provides ideas of social justice, culture and Black stories.

The museum provides educational opportunities about Black history and examines the 2024 national Black History Month theme: African Americans and the Arts.

Admission to the Palm Springs Art Museum is free every Thursday during February in honor of Black History Month.

We spoke with featured artists Deborah Williams and Tysen Knight about their experience creating art with a focus on Black history and culture.
