Local high school baseball players commit to COD

A few local high school baseball players are headed to play at College of the Desert. New head coach Sam DiMatteo and his staff have been focused on recruiting now that they have some extra time. DiMatteo was hired right before last season and missed out on recruiting, so he's making up for lost time.

The 2019 DVL MVP, Marco Calderon, a right-handed pitcher from Indio High School, along with his teammate Matt Cruz, a second baseman and outfielder, committed to play for the Roadrunners next season. Coachella Valley's Nate Delgado, a left-handed pitcher, will also join the COD squad.
