“I started liking football again”, Daniel Whelan embracing NFL and starting role
In 2016 there was a senior at Rancho Mirage High School who casually kicked a 65-yard field goal in practice. His name is Daniel Whelan, and now in 2023 he is the starting punter for the Green Bay Packers.

I asked Whelan what he wants to prove this season.
"Everybody talks about how cold it gets and all that. But I want to prove to myself that you can do it in any condition," said Whelan.

5 punts for 249 yards and a long of 68 in a win over your biggest rival on the road! Not a bad debut for a desert high school product! #GoPackGo @KESQ @BaileyKESQ @Jesus_G_Reyes @RMHSAD @RMHSFB @packers @PGPackersNews @packeverywhere https://t.co/R2Ao4aBa9c

After graduating from Rancho Mirage, Whelan played at UC Davis, the New Orleans Saints, the XFL, and now for the Packers.
The Packers are at home this Sunday against NFC North rival, the Minnesota Vikings.
