No repeat party for older generation at PGA Championship

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — There would be no repeat celebration for golf’s old guard at the PGA Championship. Stewart Cink was the elder statesman on the leaderboard at Southern Hills when the 49-year-old started the final round tied for seventh. That gave him an outside chance at following up Phil Mickelson’s stunning win at 50 last year. A victory would have made Cink the second oldest major winner in history. It was not to be. Cink faded fast in a final-round 74 and was never in contention.
