Firebirds fall to Stars in OT, take sole possession of first in Pacific Division

The Coachella Valley Firebirds fell to the Texas Stars on Friday night in overtime by the final score of 4-3.

Logan Stankoven scored with six seconds left in overtime to down the Firebirds in dramatic fashion.

Goals for Coachella Valley came from Jimmy Schuldt (1) , Shane Wright (17) and John Hayden (5).

Despite the loss, CV earned their 51st point of the season and took sole possession of first place in the Pacific Division by virtue of Tucson's loss.

The Firebirds wrap up their road trip on Saturday against the Stars. Puck drop is set for 5pm PT.

Coachella Valley returns home to face the Calgary Wranglers on Wednesday, January 31.
