Inside the Win: Devin Session leads Palm Springs to Week 3 victory

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – The Palm Springs Indians have now reached 2-1 on the season, after defeating the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs 41-35 on Friday.

It was not an easy game for the Indians, who had to face a tough offense with Arabs quarterback Ivan Garza. Palm Springs head coach Darryl Goree said after the game, they need to work on their defensive line.

Still with the struggles, Indians sophomore quarterback Devin Session stayed strong and consistent throughout the game. He was a key component to their success, as he always knew where to find his guys on the field. He continuously had completed passes to Sean Meza, Marcus Kennedy and Jaivin Patrick.

Session said he thanks the seniors from last season for everything they taught this years team. For him, former quarterback Bishop Miller has been his biggest teacher.

"On and off the field, we work and he just a leader and role model towards me," Session said about Miller. "He's been helping me with my reads so far and where I should put the place the ball."

For Goree, he's starting to see the potential his young quarterback has and he's only expecting him to grow more.

"He's growing up a little bit," Goree said. "He's just got to hold his composure a little bit more. But, he's getting into the game, becoming a varsity player."
