Firebirds fall to second place after shootout loss to Tucson Roadrunners

The Coachella Valley Firebirds lost to the Tucson Roadrunners 4-3 in a shootout.

Battling for first place in the Pacific Division, the Firebirds and Roadrunners went back and forth until the clock hit zero.

Shane Wright and Ryan Winterton were the two goal scorers for Coachella Valley, but Tucson answered right back after each goal.

Despite the game being a high scoring affair, Chris Driedger had an impressive performance with 34 saves.

With the loss, the Firebirds drop down from first to second place in the Pacific Division.

Coachella Valley's next game is against the Henderson Silver Knights on Saturday at Acrisure Arena. Puck drop is set at 6:00 p.m.
