Remembering Bill Feingold: Palm Springs radio fixture passed early Friday morning
A Palm Springs radio fixture, Bill Feingold died early Friday morning at Desert Regional Medical Center, according to long-time friend and former Mayor Robert Moon.
Feingold, also known to his fans as “the bulldog,” had been off the air recovering due to his ongoing fight with stage IV liver cancer.
According to former Mayor Moon, Feingold died surrounded by friends. He had been in the hospital since Sunday.
News Channel 3’s Madison Weil spoke with Feingold back in December, for his debut show back on K-NEWS 94.3 FM after his initial three month hiatus. He expressed how much the love and support of his fans meant to him during his battle with cancer: "I love each and every one of them. I think of them as family and I'm going to do this as long as I can,” said Feingold.
Feingold recently received a star in downtown Palm Springs surrounded by fans, family and friends.
In Facebook posts Friday morning, Bill’s friends shared that he was “so loved by so many people in the Coachella Valley and around the world” and that they know he’s preparing for that “great radio show in the sky.”
A Celebration of His Life will be held on Sunday, March 15th, at 1:00 p.m., at Temple Isaiah in Palm Springs. Rabbi Sally Olins will officiate. A reception will be held afterward hosted by Harold Matzner.
