Near-record heat again today

Highs hit 118 yesterday, the hottest day of the year as well as a record-setting number. In Palm Springs that 118 tied the previous record from 2020, and in Indio and Thermal records were broken.

High pressure remains the primary culprit, keeping the heat dome over the Western U.S. which will push heat close to records again today. The record today in Palm Springs sits at 121, I think we'll come in just below that number.

We're also tracking slightly higher dew points and humidity into the weekend as well. Be sure to stay hydrated!

We remain under an Extreme Heat Warning through tomorrow evening.

Highs next week come down to near-normal levels (107), but we also see an increase in monsoonal moisture.
