Temperatures will stay near or below normal

The high temperature in Palm Springs yesterday was 61°. The average for yesterday was 70°. We are watching a slight warm-up today through Tuesday but temperatures are expected to remain below average today with near-average temperatures clocking in by Tuesday.

The reason we are seeing a slight warming trend is because of a weak area of high-pressure building north from the south. This is allowing for a few degrees of a warm-up and slightly warmer conditions.

An area of low pressure moves in late Tuesday through Wednesday bringing back rain and snow chances. This system will not be as cold or as strong as the previous winter storm. Rain amounts for the desert look to be near one-tenth to one-third of an inch. Snow elevations are expected to be much higher, above 7000 feet. There is also a slight chance for more showers Saturday that we will be watching closely throughout the week with another area of low pressure.

Temperatures in the 60's through Monday, with a gradual warming trend to 70° by Tuesday.
