Yesterday was a few degrees above average in Palm Springs with a high temperature of 68°. The normal is 66° for this time of year. Today, temperatures will continue to warm up into the lower 70's with a ridge of high pressure peaking over the region.

Temperatures will stay warmer on Saturday with bigger cooling by Sunday. As a cold front moves in Sunday night, the region is watching for a band of showers. As a low pressure trough deepens through Monday, showers will continue.

The next wave of rain chances the desert is watching for will be Christmas afternoon through Thursday. We are continuing to watch all of these chances closely as model guidance is continuing to struggle with consensus on timing and rainfall amounts. Through this time period, for now, the desert is looking at less than one inch of rainfall.

As for today and Saturday, expect great conditions to head outdoors with temperatures above normal and in the 70's. Cooler temperatures move in Sunday with temperatures reaching the lower 60's by Monday.
