Areas of gusty winds today

Yesterday, temperatures were just above the normal. Palm Springs reached a high temperature of 70° when the average is 69°. For today, we are watching a trough of low pressure dipping down from the North. This will keep temperatures cooler than normal for the weekend.

We are also going to see some areas of gusty winds today. Gusty winds will mostly remain for the mountains, through passes, and portions of the high desert. Mountain and high desert gusts reaching up to 50 mph for the afternoon. At times, gusts could peak a little bit higher. The valley floor will see winds between 15-25 mph. Winds will diminish going into Sunday.

Temperatures expected to stay comfortable through the weekend on the valley floor. In the mountains, seeing a bit of a warm-up Sunday reaching into the 50's.
