Temperatures continue to warm today

Yesterday was a warmer than normal day, reaching a high temperature in Palm Springs of 73°. Today, the average is 70° and we will be a few degrees warmer than yesterday.

A ridge of high pressure expands over the region, keeping conditions warm and dry.

Winds will be offshore, contributing to the warming trend. The valley floor will experience light winds but gusty winds will be felt for the mountains and passes.

Those heading to The American Express PGA West Tour today in La Quinta will experience temperatures in the upper 70's by the later afternoon along with increasing cloud cover as this ridge of high pressure moves east and an area of low pressure starts to move in.

This area of low pressure moving in will increase clouds through the next couple of days and drop temperatures a few degrees. There is also a chance for some drizzle, mostly west of the mountains going into Monday. Chances are slim due to the limited instability. Though, this trough shows a deep moisture profile, keeping that slight chance in place. Overall, most of the region will just expect an increase in cloud cover the next few days.
