The normal high temperature for Palm Springs today is 85°. Temperatures for Saturday afternoon will remain in the upper 70s. The reason is because of a weak trough of low pressure.

This weak trough of low pressure will being a deep marine layer and showers for areas along and west of the mountains today. For the desert, we are going to feel gusty winds at times. Winds will be westerly to northwesterly 15-20 mph with gusts reaching 35-40 mph by the afternoon. Areas prone to more gusty winds will see higher wind speeds, like through the San Gorgonio Pass.

Winds will continue into Sunday, though they will decrease. By Sunday, gusts will be closer to 25 mph on the valley floor.

A big warm up is on the way. Moving into next week a ridge of high pressure moves in from the west bringing fair, dry, and above average temperatures. The 90s are set to return by Wednesday. So enjoy the next few days of temperatures warming up into the upper 70s and lower 80s.
