Temps near seasonal as humidity eases on Sunday

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – It's been another muggy day in the Coachella Valley. Dew points have stuck in the 70s for much of the day.

This evening, we expect to see some elevated breezes. Increasing onshore flow means 20-40 MPH gusts in our more wind-prone regions. This should help push some of the moisture back and lead to subtly drier conditions this evening, though you can still expect dew points to stay near or above the 50°F mark.

Improvements are on the way for Sunday, though. Our FutureTrack hour-by-hour dew point models show our west valley cities to start seeing numbers drop back down into the 40s. In the coming days, we'll gradually see these drier conditions make a comeback.

Our drying trend is associated with a cooling trend, too. Highs tomorrow are still expected to run a touch north of our seasonal average (103°F for Sunday), but it'll be a smidge cooler than Saturday. It'll feel better with the drier conditions, too!

For Sunday and beyond, we'll gradually cool off. By Tuesday, highs should fall into the low 100s wiht overnight lows dropping back into the 70s. Another warming trend is on the horizon as highs look to increase again for the latter half of next week.
