Weather Insider: Earthquake safety and preparedness

Earthquakes can happen at any time and without any warning, so it's important to always be prepared for a quake should one hit. If you find yourself in an earthquake, CAL OES recommends you drop to the ground, cover, and hold on.

One of the biggest things you can do before a quake is assemble an emergency kit and have it in an easily accessible area. Some of the things you may want to include in your kits are important documents/identification, food, water, medications, a flashlight, first aid, and more.
