Still hot but the cool down has begun

Another hot day in the desert with temperatures more than 10° above normal. Despite the excessive heat, today was actually cooler than yesterday with a high temperature of 110° recorded in Palm Springs.

Temperatures will slowly cool through the evening into the mid 90s around the 9:00 p.m. hour.

The breezy conditions we'll experience tonight is quick taste of what is to come for the desert as onshore flow strengthens in Southern California.

A Wind Advisory goes into effect Friday afternoon across the Coachella Valley for gusts possible of exceeding 50 MPH. The wind will persist through Saturday.

Cooling will continue into the weekend with 90s lasting into the start of the next work week.
