A Wind Advisory went into effect at 3:00 p.m. for the Coachella Valley and will remain in place through early Sunday morning. This advisory is for gusts over 50 MPH.
Here's a look at some of the strongest gusts recorded around the desert as of 3:00 p.m.:
Today was noticeably cooler than yesterday with high temperatures in the 90s recorded across the Coachella Valley -- below normal for the date.
The reason for the wind and the cooler temperatures is the area of low pressure just off the west coast. It will continue to move inland through the weekend bringing even cooler temperatures for Saturday.
Highs in the 90s looks to persist into early next week before returning to the triple digits on Tuesday.
