Above normal temperatures for Election Day

Just one degree below the record for the date, Palm Springs reached a high temperature of 96° this afternoon. Going back to this date in 2016, the high was 90°. Average is 83°.

Similar temperatures are expected through Thursday before a downward trend into cooler territory begins on Friday. A 20 degree drop in temperature in expected between Friday and Saturday as a cold, trough of low pressure arrives.

Winds will become breezy on Friday as the cooler air moves in. Light rain is also anticipated for parts of the Southland, including local mountains.
