Prepping for more wet weather, flood conditions

While the weekend has offered enough dry weather to enjoy being outside, more rain is looming for Southern California. A few prefrontal scattered showers are set to arrive late tonight and early Sunday. The bulk of the moisture is set to arrive Monday and Tuesday.
A Flood Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service to account for conditions during this window of time.

While the Coachella Valley is expected to see rain from this incoming system, much higher amounts are expected in the mountains and for areas west of us. Additional runoff into the washes is likely to lead to flooding and road closures locally.

The mountains will also see another round of snow that is expected to be heavy at times. A Winter Storm Warning has been issued starting at 10 p.m. tonight. Snow levels will likely drop as low as 5500 feet. Strong winds upwards of 60 mph will also make travel dangerous in areas of higher elevation over the next few days.

First Alert Weather Alerts have been issued for Monday and Tuesday. Showers may linger into Wednesday, and another round of rain already looks possible by Friday.
