Warming trend continues into the weekend

The start of the weekend will bring peak heating for the week, with high temperatures in the upper 70s, just slightly above average for this time of year. We'll see passing clouds, but with a ridge of high pressure in charge, a dry forecast continues.

The next low-pressure system to bring rain to Southern California arrives early next week. While coastal communities could receive rainfall on Monday, the desert's best chance for some light showers is Tuesday night into Wednesday. Currently, rainfall estimates are not impressive for the Coachella Valley, less than 0.10".

A comfortably warm weekend is ahead, followed by a cooling through midweek.
