Dry and warm weekend, light rain possible next week

A ridge of high pressure is keeping temperatures slightly above the seasonal average (74°) this weekend. It is looking like a great weekend to spend time outdoors and grab a date shake at the 76th annual Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival!

Changes are on the way early next week with the arrival of the next storm system. Wet weather will return to the region on Monday, starting with areas west of the valley. Light rainfall is more likely for the desert Tuesday through Wednesday morning. At this time, less than a tenth of an inch is expected locally.

This wet, windy and cold system could bring more snow to local mountain communities. Snow levels will drop to 6,500 ft. by Wednesday. Areas like Big Bear could see 1 to 2 inches of snow by the middle of the work week.

Wednesday will be the coolest day of the week with daytime highs in the upper 60s. Temperatures will begin to rise back into the low to mid 70s by Thursday as dry conditions return. Stay with the First Alert Weather Team for incoming forecast details.
