Mild today, with rain and wind coming this weekend

Today highs will remain above average with partly sunny conditions before a storm moves in overnight and into tomorrow.

A significant Pacific storm will roll into California in waves over the weekend, with rain likely Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A deep area of low pressure developing out of the Gulf of Alaska will drop into Northern and Central California bringing rain and gusty winds, plus sharply cooler temps.

There are many wind advisories, a winter storm warning, along with flood watches up across portions of the state, but none yet for the Coachella Valley or vicinity. Rain totals will add up over the three to four day period (with showers possible into next week) so we could receive considerable rainfall.

After highs in the 80s today, we'll be in the lower and middle 70s through most of next week as a secondary storm will follow. That keeps us with a chance of showers through midweek next week.
