First Alert Weather Alert for gusty winds tonight and tomorrow

We're tracking significant wind starting later this evening and lasting into tomorrow afternoon, so the we've issued a First Alert Weather Alert from 4 p.m. today until 1 p.m. tomorrow for those winds. A strong are of low pressure will move quickly past the region tonight, ushering in those winds.

A High Wind Warning is in place in locations North of Los Angeles through the San Bernardino mountains, with a High Wind Watch in our local mountains, along with a Wind Advisory for the Coachella Valley.

Wind speeds are likely reach 30 to 40 m.p.h on the Valley floor, and up to 70 m.p.h. in the San Gorgonio Pass.

The winds will ease by tomorrow evening, so it is a short-lived wind event, but will have a significant impact on visibility, travel and air quality overnight and into tomorrow morning.

Temps will be briefly impacted, with highs in the middle 60s both Thursday and Friday. We rebound under calm conditions into the weekend as high climb into the lower 70s!
