Perfect grilling weather this Super Bowl Sunday!

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – Good morning and happy Sunday! We're eyeing another warm one in the deserts today, but some changes are on the way in our future.

The Super Bowl is now just hours away... and I'm sure many locals are making plans on how to watch the big game. Good news for you: whether it's a backyard cookout or a trip to your local sports bar, you're going to encounter perfect weather today. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 this afternoon as temperatures start to gradually come down. It looks like a perfect evening as the game wraps up, too.

Highs in the mid to upper 80s are expected today – a bit warmer than where we were yesterday. Weak offshore flow is helping our skies stay clear, though winds aren't a cause for concern today.

We stay in the 80s through Monday ahead of a change in our weather pattern. We trade our weak offshore flow for more onshore flow as a low starts impacting us starting Tuesday. That ushers in cooler temperatures and increasing clouds for the remainder of the week. Winds could also become breezy in the deserts Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night. While chances for rain are associated with this system, our chances appear very low. Our best chance for another round of rain: next weekend, though things can certainly change this far out! Stick with us for the latest.
