Highs still running a bit above average

We hit 113 degrees yesterday and we'll be similar later this afternoon as high pressure propels temps a few degrees above normal (108).

That ridge of high pressure will be persistent, lasting through the week. This has prompted an Extreme Heat Warning for areas surrounding the Coachella Valley, up until Friday evening at 8 p.m.

Temperatures will hover closer to seasonal norms by the end of the week, but we will also see a modest increase in monsoonal moisture for the latter part of the week as well.

Into the weekend, highs will remain one to two degrees above average, par for the course this time of year in the Valley.
