Extreme heat warning added for the Valley

Temperatures have been steadily above average all week, and today is no exception. The National Weather Service has now extended the Extreme Heat Warning to include the Coachella Valley through 8 p.m. Friday.

Expect temperatures today to climb into the lower one-teens, prompting that Extreme Heat Warning.

Dew points are on the rise, so in addition to the heat we'll be dealing some added humidity, too.

Temperatures remain a bit above average through the weekend. Next week, despite some monsoonal moisture, temps will drop to below normal levels by a degree or so.
