Toasty today, relief begins tomorrow

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) — The extreme heat warning issued by the National Weather Service remains in effect until 8 p.m. tonight.

Temperatures today will remain slightly above seasonal averages, with highs ranging from 110 to 112 degrees.

Moisture remains relevant, with dew points hovering above 50 degrees through today. Some additional moisture will flow in during the late morning, pushing dew points in the southeastern part of the valley upwards of 60 degrees.

There is relief ahead. A cooling trend will begin tomorrow, bringing high temperatures as low as 102 degrees by Tuesday. However, the lull won't last long, as highs will work back toward seasonal averages after that dip.
