Comfortable for the final weekend of summer

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – We've made it to the final weekend of summer! As we transition out of the hottest months of the year, we're being treated to some pleasant weather this weekend.

Here's what's influencing our weather pattern: a ridge of high pressure is continuing to kick further to the east. A trough to the north is helping usher in cooler temperatures, making things feel more comfortable.

Thanks to that set-up, we should see further cooling on Sunday. Highs are expected just below or near the century mark. Seasonal average drops down to 100°F for Sunday's date.

The humidity has certainly eased, too. Dew points have been in the 30s and 40s across the valley through Saturday. Conditions look to remain similar into tomorrow, too. Afternoon dew points should stay dry.

We flirt with below- or near-seasonal temperatures as we continue to cool into the workweek. Monday is expected to be the coolest day with highs dropping to the mid-90s range. Another subtle warmup is expected as high pressure starts building back. Highs will be a touch above average into next weekend, but overall, things aren't looking too bad!
