Cheerleaders compete in the Desert

More than 6,500 cheerleaders and dancers are expected to compete at the Palm Springs Convention Center this weekend. The Spirit Sports “Duel in the Desert” Cheer & Dance National Championships will be open to the public. Local team Desert Elite Mavericks, formerly Desert Valley All Star Mavericks (DVAS), are already heading to NCA All-Star Nationals.
