Lake Fire burns past containment efforts

Mandatory evacuation orders were issued Wednesday for the Burns Canyon and Rimrock areas as the Lake Fire intensified and burned past containment efforts. House fire sparks in Cathedral City

Firefighters were called to a house fire in Cathedral City early Wednesday morning. The fire was reported around 3:45 a.m. at Dinah Shore Drive and Cathedral Canyon Drive. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the empty home. Weather didn’t play a factor so crews were able to douse the flames in about 10 minutes.
