Flash Flood Warning in effect for mountain areas through 9:30 pm

A Flash Flood Warning remains in effect for the mountain areas north of parts of the Coachella Valley through 9:30 pm. Flash Flooding is possible on Highway 74 and in Palm Springs, La Quinta, Palm Desert and Indian Wells. Santa Barbara beaches reopen

The last of several California beaches soiled by a massive oil spill reopened today to enthusiastic crowds that quickly jammed its campgrounds to capacity. Beach superintendent Eric Hjelstrom says Refugio State Beach’s 60 campgrounds quickly filled. Two small sections of the beach are still closed for cleanup.
