DHS appoints new interim City Manager

Counter protestors clash with “extremist group” outside California state Capitol building

Authorities say a total of 10 people were taken to the hospital after counter-protesters clashed with members of “right-wing extremist groups” outside the California state Capitol building in Sacramento. The Sacramento Fire Department says the injured included nine men and one woman ranging from 19 to 58 years old. At least five suffered stab wounds.

Hiker rescued in La Quinta

Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies and California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers helped rescue a hiker in La Quinta Sunday afternoon. First responders said they rescued the hiker around 1:30 p.m. near La Quinta Cove. Sheriff’s deputies said the hiker did not suffer any injuries, or show any signs of dehydration.
