Power outage in Palm Desert

Hundreds of Southern California Edison customers in a Palm Desert neighborhood were without power Monday evening and early Tuesday. A neighborhood West of Portola, just East of Civic Park in Palm Desert had been without power since 1:30 a.m. At it’s peak 216 customers were impacted. All service was restored by 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Border Patrol seizes $500K in drugs

Border Patrol agents assigned to the Highway 86 checkpoint, arrested three woman suspected of drug smuggling in three separate events over the weekend. The first incident occurred on Friday night when a 2008 Saturn Outlook driven by a 37-year-old woman approached the checkpoint on Highway 86. Agents conducted a secondary inspection, and found 92 packages
