Memorial ceremony held to honor fallen San Bernardino firefighter

A San Bernardino fallen firefighter was honored at a memorial ceremony Thursday morning.

Brent Witham, 29, lost his life after battling the Lolo Peak fire in Montana on August 2. He began his career as a firefighter in 2011 and was a member of the San Bernardino Vista Grande Hotshots since 2015.

The Witham Memorial Ceremony took place Thursday at the National Orange Show, Orange Pavilion, Arrowhead entrance in San Bernardino. It began at 9 a.m. and the ceremony concluded at about 10 a.m. The public was welcomed to attend.

Condolence messages may be emailed to: www.withammemorialinfo@gmail.com with the word
“CONDOLENCES” typed in the subject line of the message. These messages will be given to the family.

Donations may be made to the Brent Witham Memorial Fund as follows:

● A check should be made out to Mark Witham
● In the memo section of the check, please write: “In Trust For the Brent Witham Trust Fund”
● Mail the check (no cash please) to: Brent Witham Memorial Fund, xA8G Chief Costello, 11629 Grove
Drive, Yucaipa, CA 92399

As the tribute to Brent continues, through Wednesday evening, the public can sign two large condolence cards at the San Bernardino National Forest Supervisor’s Office, located at 602 S. Tippecanoe Avenue in San
Bernardino. The cards are available for messages and/or condolences for Brent’s family and cards will be given to the family as a keepsake and remembrance of Brent.
