Man charged with Calimesa murder
A man in Calimesa was behind bars for the murder of a woman Saturday night.
Rex Edwards, 61, of Calimesa, has been charged with homicide. Calimesa police said they responded to shooting at a mobile home park in the 35000 block of Chandler Avenue shortly after 11 p.m.
“Officers arrived and found an adult female lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds,” the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. Edwards was immediately identified as the suspect in the
shooting and arrested at the scene, deputies said. The name of the victim is being withheld until her family is notified. There was no word on the motive for the shooting.
The city is located in the San Gorgonio Pass.
