High School Football Preview: Yucca Valley Trojans
The Yucca Valley Trojans started 2016 with 6-wins in a row but just didn’t have quite the fire power down the stretch to beat the De Anza Leagues best. In 2017 though they have a huge senior class that is ready to make this season last.
“Right now we have about 23, the biggest by far.”
They have themselves a senior workhorse coming back, Lucas Lopez just 13 yards short of a 1,500 yard campagin in 2016.
“If you have 11-Lucas’s on the field you would win every single game.”
“We looking good, I’m excited.”
The way this dude pounds the rock, the colleges will knock.
“Coach has been talking to a lot of people for me but San Diego State came to see me so that’s been cool.”
This is a Trojans football team that has completely bought into their head coach.
“I like him, he knows what he is doing on the field. Coaching us well and getting us ready for the season.”
So this is the year that maybe 29 Palms should fear.
“We’re ready, our mindset has changed. It’s not big 29 anymore.”
“Offensive line and defensive line I have 4 out of 5 seniors coming back, and defensive line all 4-seniors so we are there. That’s where the game starts, in the trenches.”
