CAL FIRE says 8 fires were set in Desert Hot Springs Friday morning

CAL FIRE says 8 small fires were set in Desert Hot Springs Friday morning. All were set withing two to three hours of each other. The brush fire near the Two Bunch Palms Resort is the largest of the fires, it is about a quarter of an acre.

The fire was first reported just before 6:00 Friday morning, no injuries have been reported and no property has been damaged.

A caller into our newsroom reports seeing someone starting multiple fires in Desert Hot Springs. Miracle Hill Road and Two Bunch Palms Trail are closed right now but will open soon.

Authorities say the fires are suspicious in origin. The fires remain under investigation. Anyone with information or possible camera footage related to the fires was asked to call CAL FIRE Law Enforcement Officer Smith at (951) 940-8504.
