Storm activity across the Coachella Valley

The Coachella Valley was marked by several weather events Friday afternoon.

Showers and storms moved northeast over the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto mountains and across the valley.Pouring down some valley cities like Indian Wells, Palm Desert, Rancho Mirage and Cathedral City.

Warnings across the Coachella Valley

The Emergency Alert System issued a Flash Flood Warning at 4 p.m. that extends until 7 p.m.

Local law enforcement reported flooding along the I-10 near Chiriaco Summit.

Some rain even caused some road minor flooding on Palm Desert roads.

The Emergency Alert System also issued a Dust Storm Warning at 4:00 p.m. that ended at 5:00 p.m. The affected area was toward Eastern Riverside County.

Drivers were expected to experience hazardous driving conditions and reduced visibility.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was also issued, mostly for the east valley. Areas affected included Indio, Coachella, Thermal, La Quinta and Mecca.

There is a 20% chance for precipitation for Friday evening.
