“Battle of Cook Street” named High School Football Game of the Week

Xavier Prep and Palm Desert football are ready to renew their rivalry this week. But there’s a new twist this year with former Aztec and NFL player James Dockery as the head coach for the Saints.

This will be Dockery’s first meeting against his alma mater and the first time apart of this rivalry as he stands opposite Palm Desert second year head coach Shane McComb.

Last year when the two teams met, the Saints won 31-25. This year expects to be another close game but Palm Desert seems to be the favorite. PD is playing at home and enters with a 3-1 record, including a win over Rancho Mirage last week.

Xavier comes in off a blowout loss on the road against top ranked Aquinas and at 1-3 on the season.
