California Peace Officers’ Association Expo in Palm Springs

The three-day California Peace Officers’ Association’s COPSWEST Training & Expo in Palm Springs will bring together law enforcement personnel Monday to learn about the latest trends in policing and reflect on how police responded to recent mass shootings and other major tragedies.

The expo, held at the Palm Springs Convention Center and Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel, will include three days of training, a two-day expo, welcome reception, BBQ cookoff and more.

Attendees will hear firsthand accounts from law enforcement officials who responded to the deadly Pulse nightclub shooting in Orlando and the July 7, 2016, ambush killings of five officers in Dallas.

Monday’s events will begin with Palm Springs Police Chief Bryan Reyes offering insights on moving forward after a department is hit with tragedy, just over a year after two Palm Springs officers were killed in the line of duty.

In addition to the educational portion of the event, more than 250 vendors will showcase the latest in law enforcement technology and equipment during the expo and law enforcement agencies from across California will compete for charity in a BBQ cookoff.
